Beschreibung des Forschungsthemas

Eine erfolgreiche Umstellung des Energiesystems erfordert eine große Anzahl von Maßnahmen in verschiedenen Bereichen. Dementsprechend ist die Forschung auf die gesamte Energiekette ausgerichtet. Ziel ist eine erhebliche Steigerung der Effizienz bei der Nutzung von Energie. Das betrifft die Energiewandlungsprozesse genauso wie den Transport von Energie über räumliche oder zeitliche Distanzen hinweg. Die Maximierung der Wirkungsgrade ist daher ein Fokus der Arbeiten.

Reaktions- und Phasengleichgewichte stellen eine Begrenzung in vielen Prozessen dar. Die Vorhersage entsprechender Limitierungen ist eine zentrale Aufgabe bei der systematischen Entwicklung von Systemen mit Beteiligung chemischer Reaktionen. In vielen Anwendungen ist die Kenntnis von insbesondere Flüssig-Dampf-Gleichgewichten entscheidend. Der genauen Bestimmung der Phasenverhältnisse und –zusammensetzungen kommt daher eine Schlüsselrolle in der Forschung zu.

Neben der rein energietechnischen Forschung werden auch Vorhersagemethoden für Stoffdaten untersucht und entwickelt. Ziel ist die möglichst genaue und zuverlässige Vorhersage von Stoffgrößen basierend auf der Molekülstruktur.
